What Are The Recycling Resources In Nebraska?

The state of Nebraska utilizes the five R's of recycling in its state-wide program: reduce, reuse, recycle, re-buy and rethink. According to Nebraska resources, the amount of useless garbage produced by each person daily has doubled in the past thirty-five years. Recycling is an important resource in stopping this trend in its tracks. By recycling, this waste has the potential to be completely vanquished.

Noise Reduction System: - What Noise? White Noise!

If you have ever worked in a cubicle environment with everyone on the phone all day long, then you can relate to this dilemma. This past May, The SearchLogix Group made a move into our new office in the historic downtown vicinity of Kennesaw, GA. Along with the beautiful hardwood floors and 10' ft. ceilings, came acoustical problems. Overheard telephone conversations, excessive paper shuffling and general routine duties made our working environment challenging.

Dinosaurs Take over the Zilker Botanical Gardens

These days a stroll through the Zilker Botanical Gardens could lead to an encounter with a small herd of Bambiraptors, dinosaurs with feathered wings similar to a turkey. The word "raptor" means thief and these little creatures, named after the Disney character, were known to steal the babies of other dinosaurs. The usually sedate gardens are full of all kinds of life-size dinosaurs, like the ferocious cousin to T- Rex, a Daspletosaur, standing at 33 feet tall. The 30 creatures from the DinoLand traveling exhibit will continue to have a temporary residence among the flora and fauna of the Botanical Gardens until November 30, 2008.

The Decommissioning Of Oil Platforms And Its Affect On Marine Life

The options of reusing abandoned oil platforms and foundations of oil platforms that have been out of service have been discussed a lot in the last few decades. The decommissioning of oil platforms could provide scientists with research stations based on the abandoned oil platforms in the Golf of Mexico. This idea was explored and made promising results of marine research occurring at these platforms. This included the study of marine populations, coral reproduction, sea levels, oceanographic and meteorological information and other underwater observations.

Lightning is electricity we get absolutely free from nature. This is not always a good thing however. It can damage a lot of things and start sudden fires. The lightning bolt has a lot of power behind it. A lightning bolt has thousands of electric volts in it and it can easily injure or kill humans. It often sets things on fire and cause sparks to fly everywhere. It is powerful enough to split huge trees in half that have been standing a hundred years or more. Most people fear lightening with good reason because they have been struck before and if you can believe, a lot of people have been struck more than once despite the popular theory that it never strikes in the same place twice.
