The History, Usability And Alternatives To Leather And Pvc

Leather was one of the leading materials ever manufactured. It's a durable and versatile natural material. Leather is created by tanning hides and skins of animals. Portions are removed from the skin anteriorly the tanning process. Mineral, vegetable, aldehyde, or synthetic tanning processes could be used. The tanning process will keep the hide or skin from rotting or becoming too hard or soft. The next step after the tanning process is wringing, splitting, and shaving. Wringing reduces the moisture content of the hide and gets it prepared for splitting. The hides are split into sheets of a certain thickness depending on what they are going to be used for. They are then put through a shaving machine. When the shaving is finished, they are put into drums with hot water, dyes, and tanning materials till they turn a specific colour.
